What's better than a bowl of fresh cherries on a hot summers day?  A FREE Wave your Flag Table Runner Pattern from Fat Quarter Shop!  You can use ANY fabric you want for your runner.  Have it match your decor, use a plain background, go modern or more traditional with your fabric choices.  Whatever floats your boat, or in this case, waves your flag!

For my table runner I wanted a fun scrappy look, so I chose a few different, small prints of fabric from the Summer Social Fat Quarter Bundle Curated By Fat Quarter Shop Featuring Riley Blake Designs. I used the red and blue prints from this bundle to create the stars and stripes sections of the pieced flag blocks.

For the white fabric, I didn't want to use just plain ol' white fabric, so the Bee Backgrounds Aqua Cannin Jar Fabric by Lori Holt and Riley Blake Designs was the perfect choice.  The print is small and offers just the right amount of color without going overboard.  And who can resist the cuteness of canning jars, certainly NOT me!

The background was alittle bit harder of a choice for me.  Should I go plain aqua or gingham, well the gingham won!  In keeping with the Riley Blake Designs theme I had going on, I used the  Small Cotton Gingham Aqua Fabric by Riley Blake to give it that extra boost of scrappy.

I don’t know what it is about striped fabric binding but it is my all time favorite binding fabric!  For this table runner I chose the Navy 1/8” Stripes Fabric by Riley Blake Designs.  Isn’t it delicious?!?!

Overwhelmed by all the fabric choices out there?  Fat Quarter Shop has made it easy for you!  Kits are available for you to purchase, including a backing set!
